Safeguarding statement

Safeguarding is embedded in iMatta Junior from the ground up. This page is a plain-English summary of how we think about safeguarding across the programme and the parent-support service.

Our operating rules

The parent-support service operates under five hard rules that never bend:

• Information and signposting only. Never diagnosis or treatment. No medication or dosing recommendations.
• Grounded answers only. Every substantive reply cites a source from a clinician-approved allow-list of NHS and GOV.UK guidance. Nothing pulled from the open internet.
• In-scope questions only. Parenting, child wellbeing, neurodiversity, school and behaviour concerns. Out-of-scope questions are declined warmly and redirected.
• Crisis escalation overrides everything. Any risk signal shows UK crisis resources and stops trying to be helpful.
• Human in the loop. A named clinician approves the source list and reviews transcripts during the pilot.

Crisis routing

When a parent shares something concerning, the service surfaces the following resources immediately:

• 999 if there is immediate danger
• NSPCC helpline: 0808 800 5000
• Childline: 0800 1111
• Samaritans: 116 123
• Speak to your GP or your child's school Designated Safeguarding Lead

School-side safeguarding

For schools running the programme, the taught curriculum aligns with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and the DfE mental-health guidance for schools. Each participating school retains its own Designated Safeguarding Lead and its own safeguarding policy; iMatta Junior sits alongside those, never replaces them.

Before the pilot opens, each participating school agrees a written protocol with us covering escalation from a flagged transcript to a named human, with a defined response SLA.
